Many people have expressed interest in volunteering for TEDxBloomington. We now have a volunteer coordinator who’s sorting out needs and will put together an application so we can best match skill sets + availability to those needs.
Your first step, if you’re interested in volunteering, is for you to fill out an application to attend the conference. Later, we’ll be in touch with the applicant pool to fill any volunteer slots that are available. Thanks!
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TED has created a program called TEDx. TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. Our event is called TEDxBloomington, where x = independently organized TED event. At our TEDxBloomington event, TEDTalks video and live speakers will combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events, including ours, are self-organized.
The Wisdom of Play conference theme offers the chance to explore play, wisdom, experimentation, insight, risk, horizon lines, adventure, intention, wonder, perception, curiosity, and knowledge throughout our lives. Although the words “wisdom” and “play” may evoke opposed images and responses, this year’s TEDxBloomington conference is about the fertile ground where the two intersect in our daily working lives.
