Last 5 days to get your early bird ticket for TEDxBloomington

WhatGoesRound-FB-EarlyBird

The countdown to TEDxBloomington 2014 begins! And time is running out to get early bird pricing on your ticket – only $40 through Tuesday, April 1st.

Join us on Saturday, April 26th from 10:30 am – 5 pm for a day of live speakers from Bloomington and around the world as well as TED Talk videos relating to What Goes ‘Round.

Presenters including artists, doctors, permaculturists, architects, and scientists will speak to big ideas around topics that are metaphorically or literally round, spherical, global, or cyclical. Designed to spark discussion and build larger, more diverse networks among participants, the event encourages attendees to be more active in both their local and global communities.

A few of the local, regional, and national speakers include

  • Danielle McClelland, the founder of the Pride Film Festival
  • Amy Brier, the founder of the Indiana Limestone symposium
  • Jeremy Shere, the author of “Renewable” and a journalism professor
  • Christy Hegarty, a parent advocate for transgender children
  • Christian Freitag, environmentalist and director of the Sycamore Land Trust
  • Marybeth Gasman, a professor of higher education and expert on minority serving institutions
  • T. Kelly Wilson, an artist, architect, and professor at the IU Center for Art and Design in Columbus

You’ll get a chance to hear the best ways to conserve water and electricity in your household (they’re not what you think), a new (but old) way you can help an emergency room doctor determine your need for immediate cardiovascular testing, and why Bloomington may be safer than Sandy Hook, Connecticut. This year’s event will once again be hosted by the effervescent Sarah “Intellagirl” Smith-Robbins.
